Yes, it’s summer again and the hot and humid weather calls for extra attention for our skin. Of course, we love taking a dip into cool waters of swimming pools and savouring our favourite ice- creams and indulging too much into mock tails and soft drinks. Yes, we love all those things and we forget to do the basic things required by our skin (lol).

So, let’s refresh our memories and zoom back to our basic little things :
1. Cleanse your face twice daily.
Don’t feel lazy to splash some water and dab those cleansers onto your face even at night(I know it’s a boring task).The dirt and grime of your make up and weather needs to be removed from your pretty face.
2. Don’t forget to use a face toner.
In the rush and excitement to start a brand new summery day, don’t forget to apply some toner on your face, be it in the morning or at night. Toners help to remove all the remaining dirt off your skin even after using a cleanser. Choose the ones with soothing and calming effect right for the summer.
3. Always moisturise your face.
Choose the perfect moisturiser for your skin according to your skin type and use it twice daily without fail. For oily skin, use a water based moisturiser which is light and non- greasy for the face.
4. Don’t forget to apply your sunscreen.
Yes, who forgets to apply sunscreen in summer (hehe) but, do you apply it after every 30 mins or even when you’re at home? I bet You hardly do ( because even I forget it sometimes). UV rays are our skin’s enemy and the culprit behind pre-aging, dark spots and a lot more so better be well equipped before hand. Oily skinned people should use a sunscreen of sun protection formula of 50 and people with normal or dry skin can settle with spf 30 or 40.
5. Use an exfoliator at least once a week.
Choose the correct scrub for your skin and use it at least once a week to get rid of dead cells and bumps on your face. Look for the perfect scrubbing beads, neither too small nor too big. Don’t over exfoliate your skin as it can enlarge your pores.
6. Use a pore care for your face.
Now, taking care of your pores depend on which type of product you want ( You can go for mask sheets, cream, serum, gels,etc).Summer season do enlarge our pores making it prone to blackheads and whiteheads so,using a good scrubber can keep a check on them.
7. Choose BB creams over foundation.
Go for light makeup this summer season. Select the perfect shade of BB cream for your skin and try to ditch foundation for daily use. Yes, BB creams have a light coverage that gives a natural finish to your skin that is just right for the season ( Know your skin type and then choose the one that is right for your skin).
8. Take time to pamper your skin.
Use mask sheets, home made natural packs, face packs for your skin. Don’t hesitate to steam your face once a fortnight to keep acne and pimple at bay ( Slice some cucumbers and put it around your eyes and just chill and doze off to sleep).
9.Sleep at least for 8 hrs.
Yes, laptops and cell phones are too good for us and we can’t keep the track of time while using them but, it’s ruining our skin and health too (Avoid using them at night especially before going to bed and let your body and mind relax and prepare you for a deep and peaceful sleep). A proper sleep can work wonders for your skin.
10. Drink at least 8 glasses of water everyday.
It’s the basic thing we learnt when we were in the 1st grade but not everyone follows it. The best solution to skin problems is drinking plenty of water. Keep your body hydrated and you’ll never have any issues with your body (Experiment by squeezing a lemon on a glass of water or adding mint leaves on it, you’ll never regret it).
